Finnish shooter with global reach - Jarkko Laukia

Jarkko Laukia, an experienced shooter from Finland, started his career in 2002 and has since won numerous prestigious titles at world and European championships. His tireless work and constant improvement have made him a legend in IPSC disciplines, both in the open and senior categories.

Introducing our company shooter, Jarkko Laukiu, who has been impressing both in Finland and on the international shooting scene with his achievements. Jarkko, now 53, is an experienced sports shooter who started his career in 2002 in the "Finnish 3-gun" discipline.

He initially competed with a Glock, an AK-47 rifle and a pump-action shotgun. In 2007, he upgraded his equipment to an AR-15 rifle, a CZ TS pistol and a Remington 1100 shotgun, which immediately catapulted him to 3rd place in the Finnish 3-gun championship. He also participated in his first IPSC rifle competition.

His career continued to grow. In 2011, he decided to invest more in training and set a goal for himself - the IPSC European Rifle Championship in Bulgaria in 2012. There, he took 3rd place in the open category, which strengthened his belief in further improvement. In 2015, he achieved 3rd place again in the open category at the IPSC European Championship in Hungary, and in the same year, he placed 4th in the standard category at the World Shotgun Championship in Italy.

A crucial step came in 2014, when Jarkko left his previous job and bought a share in a gun shop. This allowed him to devote himself to training full-time. His determination bore fruit in 2018, when he won his first world title in the standard category at the World Shotgun Championship in France. A year later, in 2019, he triumphed at the IPSC World Rifle Championship in Sweden in the open category.

After a long break caused by the pandemic, Jarkko came back even stronger. In 2023, he won the title of Senior World Champion in the standard category at the IPSC World Shotgun Championship in Thailand. In 2024, he took 2nd place in the open senior category at the IPSC Rifle World Championship in Finland. Jarkko’s goal for 2025 is the PCC World Championship in the Czech Republic and the IPSC European Shotgun Championship in Hungary, which will be a preparation for the 2026 World Championship in Greece.

Jarkko is known not only for his long-term successful career at Level 3 and hundreds of IPSC President’s Medals, but also for his versatility. During his career, he has used a wide range of weapons, including rifles, shotguns, PCCs and mini rifles, with the favorite pistol remaining part of his competition arsenal. In his most successful year, he won 16 championship titles at the Finnish Championships, which is a testament to his extraordinary talent and perseverance.

Jarkko Laukia is a true inspiration to all shooters and we look forward to his continued success in the upcoming competitions.
